artist statement

 

 

I am a painter,
or actually I make large drawings on canvas.        

using charcoal, pencil, paint and inkt.

When I start a new work I have no preset idea or concept in mind.    

I just start,
traveling with charcoal over the canvas.                                                  

making lines exploring shapes that can lead to stories,
 

with no set destination,


but trying to grasp what is in the lines and the in between space.

My drawings are

My drawings are to be enjoyed and engaged with.
It’s for those who will take the time
and make the effort to see beyond the aesthetics.

They are story’s in there own right,

with no need to be defended or give accountability to anyone.
